A spice that absorbs blood sugar and tames high glucose levels so quickly that amazes doctors

Diet is known to be the mainstay of diabetes prevention. Faced with rising growth rates, health experts are urging to eat cautiously to prevent high blood sugar levels. Fortunately, a single spice can lower blood sugar levels by 30 percent when incorporated into your diet.

The importance of diet in managing diabetes is indisputable. Unfortunately, no single food is capable of providing the full range of nutritional and health benefits required for optimal health. However, some scientific studies have linked certain foods to lower blood sugar levels. One spice, in particular, lived up to the task — lowering blood sugar levels by 30 percent in just 40 days.

There is compelling evidence that the burden of diabetes is increasing in conjunction with obesity rates.

The condition is characterized by problems making or using insulin – the hormone that absorbs blood sugar.

With the pancreas obstructed, blood sugar levels can be expected to rise dramatically, which is when the damage begins.

However, certain foods may help tame high glucose levels.

In a 2013 study published in the Annals of Family Medicine and Diabetes Care, researchers found cinnamon to be beneficial for individuals with type 2 diabetes.

The results showed that individuals who ate one or more gram of cinnamon experienced a 30 percent decrease in blood sugar levels, compared to those who did not.

Results were observed in middle-aged diabetics who took one, three or six grams of cinnamon after only 40 days.

The study also noted significant reductions in triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and total cholesterol levels of more than 25 percent.

This link is thought to be due in part to cinnamon’s concentrations of chromium, a mineral that enhances the effects of insulin.

Its polyphenolic qualities may also offer benefits, acting as a barrier against free radicals in the blood.

This, in turn, helps reduce inflammation in the body, which may protect against diabetes and heart disease.

These findings were later confirmed in a study published in the July 2000 issue of the Journal of Agricultural Research, which confirmed that just one gram per day may be enough to help increase insulin sensitivity.

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition highlighted that a large dose of six grams of cinnamon can significantly reduce post-meal sugar spikes without affecting satiety.

However, the current evidence regarding cinnamon’s benefits for diabetes is not large enough to make it medically relevant as a treatment.

What are the symptoms of diabetes?

The absence of clinical symptoms associated with diabetes can make it difficult to detect in the initial stages, however, if blood sugar levels are left untreated, complications can arise quickly.

These may include blurry vision, severe thirds, an increased need to urinate, tiredness, or numbness and tingling in the hands and feet.

There is a common belief that both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, which take longer to develop, are irreversible, but these views have been challenged in recent years.

Some researchers argue that significant weight loss can improve your odds of remission.

This is especially true for prediabetes, a condition characterized by high blood sugar levels, but not high enough to qualify for type 2 diabetes.

In all cases, a diet combined with regular exercise provides the best chances of reversing the condition.
