Egypt’s ambassador to Dublin: Ireland cancels the flight ban to Sharm el-Sheikh

Ambassador Khaled Tharwat, Egypt’s Ambassador to Ireland, stated that the Irish government recently canceled the flight ban imposed to Sharm El-Sheikh, explaining that this issue has remained at the top of the embassy’s priorities since 2019, and it was addressed at various levels during meetings with Irish officials, both in the Ministry The Foreign Ministry or the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation or through the Irish Parliament, until the efforts of the embassy were successful.

“Tharwat” indicated that this decision would open the door to the flow of Irish tourism to Sharm El-Sheikh when the government in Dublin takes a decision to reduce restrictions imposed on tourism travel due to the Corona pandemic.

He also explained that Air Cairo’s intention to organize direct charter flights from Dublin to Sharm El-Sheikh in the near future, in addition to the plan of “EgyptAir” to launch a direct flight line between Cairo and Dublin, which would facilitate the Irish tourists ’choice of tourist destinations in Egypt.
