Launching of disability-defying events throughout the year

Yesterday morning, the Heliopolis Association, headed by Dr. Nabil Helmy, launched a package of activities for the challenge of disability of various kinds under the slogan “A Day for All”, which aims to enhance societal awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities, highlight their full rights, and improve the services provided to them.

Dr. Nabil Helmy, President of Heliopolis Association, indicated that the activities began yesterday and are implemented by the Heliopolis Library for the Child throughout the year, and it is scheduled to be organized on a monthly basis, provided that it specializes in one type of disability that is celebrated during the month, to emphasize the rights of people with disabilities in expression and self-determination. Providing them with all opportunities to prove their capabilities and capabilities to give and participate, to be active and able to give and live independently, to make them more effective and self-reliant, to achieve their just integration and to guarantee their full human rights.

For her part, Marwa Abdel Rahman, Director of Heliopolis Children’s Library, explained that yesterday’s celebration was organized for the hearing loss challenge in coordination with the Resala Association, the Al-Noor Association, and the Egyptian Renaissance Foundation, and its activities varied between entertainment and thinking through the cartoon show that brings fun and happiness to the faces of children, and workshops for drawing and coloring It urges thinking, innovation and the development of life skills, clown performances, and a nursery workshop to raise awareness of how to preserve and care for plants, as well as gifting magazines from the Egyptian Renaissance Foundation, the celebration was held with translators for the deaf and mute.
