Despite the repeated denials by Iran and al-Qaeda leaders that there is no coordination or cooperation between them, companions to Ayman al-Zawahiri and Egyptian security sources denied this, and confirmed that coordination between the two sides has been and is still continuing since Khomeini’s rise to power in Tehran, and the emergence of Al Qaeda, and mediated by a third party, who are leaders Brotherhood.

The beginning of the actual coordination between Al Qaeda and Iran mediated by the Brotherhood was in the mid-1980s, according to what an Egyptian security source confirmed to Al-Arabiya.net, where he says that a meeting between Brotherhood leaders and Osama bin Laden was monitored in Afghanistan in the year 1986 in the presence of Muhammad Khalil al-Hakimah and Ahmed Hussein Agiza from Al-Qaeda leaders agreed to coordinate and exchange interests, and another meeting brought together Osama bin Laden, the mentor of the Muslim Brotherhood at that time, Muhammad Hamid Abu al-Nasr and his deputy, Mustafa Mashhour, who visited the Afghan mujahideen camps and announced their support for bin Laden and his comrades, and at that time they were informed of what bin Laden intended to establish the so-called Al-Qaeda organization to act as a rapid deployment forces made up of armed and trained elements to support Muslims in crisis and conflict areas such as Somalia, as happened in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, according to the security source, there were other meetings between Iranian elements and Ayman al-Zawahiri, who was aiming to exploit the nascent organization to launch operations in other countries such as Egypt, contrary to bin Laden’s idea, which was based on the principle of confronting the distant enemy and not the near enemy, and deploying forces The new organization of al-Qaeda in areas where Muslims need relief, such as Somalia, Bosnia and Herzegovina after that, and Chechnya, while Ayman al-Zawahiri directed the new organization to carry out violent operations in Egypt, Sudan and Yemen, as happened in the 1990s, and brought the leaders of the Jihad Group in Egypt to Afghanistan to train them in combat operations and send them again To Egypt to launch attacks there, which is what happened in the nineties in the attempt to assassinate Prime Minister Atef Sidqi and Interior Minister Hassan al-Alfi and targeting tourists in the Khan al-Khalili area.

Ayman Fayed, an advisor to al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden reveals that the cooperation between al-Qaeda and Iran was through al-Zawahiri and the Brotherhood leaders in Egypt and Afghanistan, and Iran had penetrated the mujahideen in Afghanistan in the Hazara region through an Afghan Shiite named Assef Mohseni, funded by Iran, and who founded the Unity Party, which is a political entity. And a soldier in Afghanistan, and through Al-Zawahiri and those close to him, the organization’s secrets were transferred to Tehran.

He added to Al-Arabiya.net that Muhammad Shawqi al-Islambouli, brother of Khaled al-Islambouli, the murderer of the late President Anwar Sadat, was the link between Iran and al-Zawahiri, stressing that the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood in Afghanistan, who are among the leaders of the Afghan jihad, entered the line of coordination between al-Qaeda and Iran, where they founded the Islamic Association Led by the Afghan Muslim Brotherhood, Abd al-Rahim Niazi, in 1969, it included Burhan al-Din Rabbani and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, and they were implementing the Brotherhood’s instructions in Egypt regarding the necessity of coordination with Iran and the Shiite parties loyal to Tehran in Afghanistan and not targeting any regions in the world except in coordination with Iran.

Dr. Jamal Al-Minshawi, an Egyptian doctor who worked in the treatment of Afghan mujahideen in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and was a friend and companion of Al-Zawahiri and the leader of the leaders of Al-Qaeda, reveals that Al-Zawahiri asked Iran for $ 100 million to carry out operations in Egypt, and Tehran refused this because of its lack of confidence in the capabilities of Al-Zawahiri and his comrades The implementation is due to the vigilance of the Egyptian security services, as well as the magnitude of the required amount, indicating that in 2003 Iran hosted leaders from Al-Qaeda, including Al-Zawahiri, along with Saif Al-Adl, Abu Hafs Al-Mauritani, Egyptian Muhammad Shawqi Al-Islambouli and Abu Muhammad Al-Masry.

He told Al-Arabiya.net that he learned from some of Ayman’s comrades that a number of al-Qaeda leaders had traveled to Iran to receive training on explosives, and Iran offered them a safe haven during the continuous US bombing of their strongholds in the Tora Bora Mountains, and later used them as a pressure card to bargain with the American authorities and obtain On political gains from Washington and the West in return for handing them over or obligating them to stop violence and attacks against American and Western interests.
