Khairy Ali, head of the steering committee of the Chamber of Tourism Companies in Aswan Governorate, confirmed that the “Various in Egypt” initiative gave the city’s hotels a kiss in light of the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, pointing out that winter is the tourist season for the city.

Khairy told Al-Masry Al-Youm that it was necessary to focus on the internal tourism file so that the sector could survive, with Aswan getting a very small percentage of the volume of inbound traffic, of which domestic tourism constitutes the largest percentage, as the hotel occupancy rate exceeded 50% of the permitted allowance for hotels under precautionary measures.

In a related context, Hisham Idris, a member of the General Assembly of the Chamber of Tourism Companies, Secretary of the Tourism and Antiquities Committee of the “Future of a Nation” party in the Giza Governorate, called on tourism companies to sponsor the initiative due to the necessity that the sale process be through companies.
