President Mahmoud Abbas welcomed the positive results of the recent National Dialogue sessions held in Cairo, and stressed the importance of translating these results in favor of the progress of the democratic process, according to the time periods set in accordance with presidential decrees, for the holding of legislative, presidential and National Council elections.
This came during a meeting held by the Fatah Central Committee, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, at the presidential headquarters in the city of Ramallah, in the central West Bank.
The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) indicated that President Mahmoud Abbas briefed the members of the Central Committee on the latest developments related to the political file, and the findings of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to open an investigation into the Israeli crimes committed against Palestine, the people and the land, stressing the importance of fully cooperating with the investigations. The Central Committee confirmed that the movement will continue its preparations to run for the general elections with a list that enjoys the support and support of all members of the movement, and that expresses the hopes and aspirations of our people for freedom and independence.
She appreciated the role of the brothers in the Arab Republic of Egypt headed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who were keen to provide the appropriate climates for the success of the national dialogue sessions.
In the political affairs, the Central Committee condemned the execution by the Israeli occupation forces of Atef Hanaysheh (45 years), by shooting him during his participation in the peaceful march that took place in the village of Beit Dajan in Nablus, which condemns settlement.
She stressed that despite this heinous crime, the masses of the Palestinian people will continue their peaceful popular resistance against the Israeli occupation and its ongoing crimes, and renewed its call to the international community to provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and to pressure the occupation government to stop its ongoing crimes against this people.
The Fatah Central Committee also condemned the unilateral measures taken by the Israeli occupation government to undermine international efforts seeking to save the two-state solution, by insisting on a policy of settlement, confiscation, Judaization and demolishing homes, as happened in the Bustan neighborhood in Silwan, and Sheikh Jarrah in occupied Jerusalem.
