Engineer Sami Abu Warda, head of the Upper Egypt Electricity Distribution Company, confirmed that the number of subscribers in Luxor Governorate is about 430 thousand subscribers, and that during the period from July 2014 until June 2020, expansion and replacement works were carried out to raise the efficiency of the electrical network in the governorate and improve service for subscribers through the implementation of several plans. Abu Warda said in exclusive statements to Al-Youm Al-Sabea that the implementation of the ambitious plan in the Luxor electricity sector, which was funded by a loan from the state, was completed with the aim of developing the networks during the period from July 2017 to June 2020 at a cost of LE 412 million. The self-plan was also implemented during the period. From July 2014 until June 2020, an amount of about 163 million pounds.

Abu Warda revealed that the plan to replace medium-voltage antennas with ground cables was implemented during the period from July 2017 to June 2020, with 95 operations, with a total of 36,084 km cable lengths, which amounted to 40 million pounds.

On the projects (implemented for others), the head of the Upper Egypt Company said that the projects required for others for the infrastructure of the electricity utility in the new cities of the Urban Communities Authority have been implemented, and the feeding of national projects for drinking water, sanitation, factories, schools, irrigation … etc., which contribute to the development of society and the realization of life Better for the citizen, with a value of about 405 million pounds.
